Airsmile (clear braces)

What is Airsmile?

Are you dissatisfied with the position of your teeth? Besides the well-known metal braces, there are also braces that are invisible and removable. Airsmile is ideal for anyone who prefers to keep the old school braces out of sight! The Airsmile treatment consists of wearing a series of transparent, removable and custom-made aligners. These aligners will gradually straighten the teeth and will be replaced with a new set every two weeks.

Treatment with Airsmile

Step 1: Initial consultation
The dentist will explain the Airsmile treatment to you during the first consulatation. We will listen to yout wishes and will determine together whether the invisible braces are a match for you.

Step 2: The treatment plan
Prints and photos will be made during the second appointment. We will digitalize your teeth and will calculate the desired changes to your teeth. An animation will exactly show you how your teeth will change over time. This way you can already admire the end result!

Step 3: Custom-made aligners
The dentist will discuss the treatment plan with you and will offer you the opportunity to ask additional questions. If you decide to start the treatment process, we will custom make the transparent aligners. The aligners need to be changed every two weeks.

Step 4: The treatment
In order to achieve the best results, you have to wear the aligners day and nights. The aligners should only be removed when eating or brushing your teeth. During the treatment, you will feel the aligners pushing the teeth into the right direction. During the following appointments, we will assess whether the desires results have been achieved. Sometimes an adjustment in the treatment plan is necessary. It is also possible that the treatment process will take a bit longer or shorter than initially planned. However, there will be no difference in the agreed price.

Step 5: Final phase
All Airsmile treatments include a retainer. In order to ensure that your teeth will remain in the correct position the dentist will place the retainer after the completed treatment. It is advised to wear this retained daily for the first period after the treatment. Later on, the retainer will mainly function as night braces.

Costs

The treatment costs consists of the dental rates and the technique costs for the aligners. The total amount will vary based on the desired correction. An average correction for only the upper or lower jaw is possible from € 1550. If we will treat both jaws or if there is a need for a larger correction, the costs will run in the direction of € 2000 to € 2500.  The reimbursement in most cases is similar to  dental braces.
